01 / The story of this place

Make time for these

Skateland West at 37550 Cherry Hill Road had been in business for about 40 years by its own account, with open skating on Friday nights and weekend afternoons and evenings, plus birthday parties, Zumba classes, bubble soccer and a seasonal haunted attraction. New owners relaunched it around 2012 with DMX lighting, fog effects and set pieces built for movies. A fire on March 29, 2018 knocked out power and plumbing and filled the building with smoke; the owners promised to rebuild, but by January 2019 they were liquidating the equipment.
