Make time for these
Founded around 2000, it drew up to about 5,000 guests at its peak, with 20+ musical acts (punk, rock, jazz, funk, marching bands, swing DJs), burlesque, sideshow acts and a strict costume dress code. It was canceled in 2020–2021 because of COVID-19, came back in 2022 and was canceled again in 2023 after a double-booking at the Masonic Temple, and the full masquerade hasn't returned since. For 2026 the team took “Devils in the Details: An Art Retrospectacle” to El Club on October 28–31, an exhibit of Theatre Bizarre art and costumes with burlesque, sideshow acts and bands; its 1,400 tickets sold out within 15 minutes.
